Once the card is loaded into a digital wallet, it’s ready to be used.

No, the card must be deleted/removed from your digital wallet, and then you can add your new replacement card by going through the simple enrollment process again.

Yes. Placing your debit card into a digital wallet, simply adds a more convenient and secure payment option. When making purchases where contactless payments are not available, you can still use your physical card just like you always have.

After you notify First Dakota that your card is lost/stolen, remove the card from your digital wallet.

When you receive your replacement card, you can go through the enrollment process to add your new card to your digital wallet.

Since your debit card is in your Digital Wallet, you will need to contact First Dakota to deactivate your card.

  • You can do this by logging into Digital Banking from a Desktop Computer and from Card Management, select “Report lost/stolen” for that card
  • Call 800-486-4712 during regular business hours
  • Call 866-546-8273, which is the number on the back of the card for Lost/Stolen cards

If your Apple device is lost or stolen, you can also use “Find My Apple Device” to quickly suspend or remove your digital account numbers for the respective device.

  • Once you receive your new device simply add cards to your wallet. In the meantime, you can continue to use your physical card without interruption.

When selling or giving away your mobile device you should make sure you delete all digital accounts in your Digital Wallet first. Alternatively, you may reset your phone to factory settings which will also remove all digital accounts. If you forget to do this, contact us at 800-486-4712 to deactivate your debit card on your behalf, and order a new one.
